For sale - Dauphine ("Fina")
KWPN pending, 2008 Bay filly, will mature to 17hh+
Sire: Royal Prince Dam: Notorious KWPN
Fina’s Date of Birth is May 11, 2008. She is not yet weaned, and we plan to do this in November. This filly has a very social nature and appreciates human interaction. She will stand stock- still and preen when somebody comes to see her, and does not mind if there is a crowd or a group of children. She expresses her dismay when the crowd leaves by squealing and trotting around with her tail up to let you know she wants you to come back. If that fails, she will plaster her face against the rails and stare intently, ears pricked, trying to will the crowd back to her. She is quite comical. She is very inquisitive and brave and I have not seen her spook at anything unless her dam spooks first. Her dam is an old-fashioned type Dutch mare with 62% Gelderlander blood. This dam-line that descends from the imported mare Tolinda (imported by Willy Arts) has been very successful in North America with a recent Markel Young horse champion (Waterloo SE) , numerous KWPN Top Tens, breed show champions and dressage champions through Grand Prix. Dauphine’s dam is a full sibling to Tracey Lert’s Grand Prix horse Lexus, who has been a multiple HOY champion with USDF and CDS. The mare line in Europe has also produced several successful horses (please see fokfamilie 84), including several approved stallions, (Cor De Emilion, Daytona, Gaston, Accent, etc.) dressage horses and international level competing jumpers. Fina’s dam, Notorious ("Tori") is a sweet and placid mare. She has no vices and has been an excellent mother.

We are quite pleased with the refining influence that Royal Prince gave to this cross. Fina has near perfect conformation and gained a lot of elasticity in movement from her sire. She has beautiful expression. Her dam has a lot of power from behind, and Fina has benefited from this also. Fina seems to have an interest in, and some talent for jumping, not that we have asked her to in any way, but we notice that she prefers to jump an "obstacle", (like the stone wall or bushes) much more so than other foals, and she does it with efficiency and grace. You can view more about Royal Prince at www.hilltopfarminc.com. Royal Prince’s first foal crop is now 3 years and starting under saddle, and we are hearing good things about his offspring.
Fina’s birth was normal, she has had no health issues or injuries. She will be very tall, like her dam, at least 17hh and substantial in her body. She is very good for the farrier and to handle, halters and leads well. We have not yet started trailer-loading training, but will begin after weaning.
As you perhaps can tell, we think a lot of this filly and hope that she goes to a home that will develop her. We will be repeating this particular cross in the future. In the meanwhile, her dam is now in foal to the KWPN stallion, Sandreo (Sandro Hit x Flemmingh) for a 2009 foal.
